(S.C) What, in your opinion is a sassy food & why?

(A.P) Kale is naturally sassy. It grows all year long and thrives in the winter! There are many varieties of kale. It’s so versatile, from a smoothie ingredient to a salad, or even chips. It’s so good for you as it’s packed with nutrients. But unless you know how to prep it properly, it can be a soggy mess or be overpowering in a smoothie.

(S.C) What sassy ‘old-person’ things do you do?

(A.P) I have to start my day with an earl grey tea. I can’t function unless I have one. Some people are concerned about running out of toilet paper; I can’t live without having a stach of tea in my kitchen cabinet.

I sleep with fuzzy socks on. Cringy…I know. My partner calls me the “ice queen” as my feet are always so cold. Bad blood circulation will do that to you!

(S.C) If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

(A.P) Wow, wouldn’t it be amazing?! I would learn new skills like crochet, paint or gardening. I would do all the things that I keep telling myself I’ll do once I’m retired and have all the time in the world.

(S.C) If your life was a documentary, who would be the narrator: Morgan Freeman or David Attenborough?

(A.P) I’d have to say Sir David Attenborough! I haven’t travelled as extensively as he has but I see myself as an explorer, always thinking about my next adventure, discovering new cultures, meeting new people, and learning new things. I love his soothing voice and how he helps people navigate the ups and downs of the natural world.

(S.C) What was the best thing before sliced bread? (keep in mind, this was invented in 1928 by Otto Frederick Rohwedder)

(A.P) I had to Google that one. Discovered a few interesting things…the automated tea maker for instance was invented in 1902! What is so wrong with boiling hot water in a pot?

This is a difficult question – it’s a close call between an electric washing machine and a TV. I can’t see my life without those inventions. First world problems 😉

(S.C) What keyboard shortcut would you rather be able to do in real life: Copy + Paste, or Undo?

(A.P) 100% UNDO! My partner often says that I can be a bull in a china shop…sounds awful I know. I blame my Mediterranean roots for being passionate. I need more restraint in my life so Undo all the way.

(S.C) What is your least favorite mode of transportation & why?

(A.P) Airplane. Long story short, I had an interesting experience once on my way to NYC and I now appreciate how little control I have every time I put a foot on a plane. It won’t stop me from flying though, but I usually need some Dutch courage when my plane encounters turbulences.

(S.C) What is your most hated/loathed word in English (or if you have a preference for another language, that is also fine)

(A.P) Moist is the first word that comes to mind. Nearly fell off my chair when I heard Trudeau using it recently. Being French, I don’t like saying words like beach or ship/sheep as I can’t get the pronunciation right.

(S.C) At what age did you become an adult?

(A.P) When I made the wise move to finally give up on heels and frilly anything…and choose comfort instead – in my mid-thirties.

(S.C) Do you put milk in your bowl first, or cereal?

(A.P) Cereal first. It’s the only thing I like soggy!

(S.C) If you could flip a switch & erase any band or musical who/what would it be?

(A.P) I find the Beatles overrated. I can imagine the look of shock and disapproval from readers. Sorry guys, I like some of their tunes but I don’t believe they sparked a so-called “music revolution”.

(S.C) Does the week start on Sunday or Monday?

(A.P) Lately, days, weeks and months have been merging into each other. But in “normal” times, Sunday is my prep day for the week – so Sunday it is.

In need of a bit of sass in your next yoga class?
Look no further!

After class students scurry out as soon as the last Namaste has been uttered (and I am usually one of the first out the door), but one time I ended up chatting to the teacher, and found myself a new sassy friend!

His sassy-ness is infectious, so much so that it needs to be shared!

(S.C) What, in your opinion is a sassy food & why?

(R.C) Oh, I think asparagus is sassy. It always has to have the last word. It tastes so good, but hours later, you go to pee and it reminds you who’s the boss. Now, that’s sassy!

(S.C) What sassy ‘old-person’ things do you do?

(R.C) It’s not really sassy, but it’s my only ‘old-person’ ritual…I have to spray the bed with lavender spray before I’m able to fall asleep. I do this right after I soak my dentures.

If your life was a documentary, who would be the narrator : Morgan Freeman or David Attenborough?

(S.C) If your life was a documentary, who would be the narrator : Morgan Freeman or David Attenborough?

(R.C) How about Morgan Freeman doing an impression of David Attenborough?

(S.C) What was the best thing before sliced bread? (keep in mind, this was invented
in 1928 by Otto Frederick Rohwedder)

(R.C) I had to look this up and it was a no brainer. The vacuum cleaner…it was invented in 1901. Nothing makes me happier than clean floors. I’m not kidding, my plan is to vacuum after I send these answers to you.

(S.C) What keyboard shortcut would you rather be able to do in real life : Copy + Paste, or Undo?

(R.C) Definitely UNDO! I put my foot in my mouth all the time…all the damn time!!! I’d probably hit UNDO, then repeat my conversation, and deliver my “line” in a more passive aggressive way, and repeat if necessary, until the person is confused as to whether or not I’ve just complimented them or insulted them. Then, I’d walk away with a smile on my face. Geez, I’m coming off as an asshole, aren’t I?

(S.C) What is your least favourite mode of transportation & why?

(R.C) I’m going to come off as a overly privileged person saying this. I am not a fan of public transportation. Hear me out. I’m a neat freak and a germaphobe. If the seats on our Vancouver buses were upholstered in vinyl, I’d be more OK with it…I’d use a wet wipe and wipe it down before I sit. The problem is, our seats are upholstered in fabric, there is no way the seats are going to be clean. When I do take public transportation, I throw my clothes into the hamper the minute I get home.

(S.C) What is your most hated/loathed word in English (or if you have a preference for another language, that is also fine)

(R.C) Just one? Hmmm…aside from MOIST, which I’m sure will be on the list of many others, I also don’t like the word LESIONS…the picture that comes to mind is open, infected wounds. Yuck! Oh god, seeing the word in all caps is making me nauseous.

(S.C) At what age did you become an adult?

(R.C) I turn 40 this month and I’m not sure that I’m there yet. I still feel like a kid at times. Maybe when my body starts to fall apart on me and I have to juggle work, caring for my ailing body, and stocking up on fibre supplements, I’d feel more like an adult.

(R.C) Do you put milk in your bowl first, or cereal?

(S.C) Neither…cereal in the palm of my hand…cereal is snack food for me.

(R.C) If you could flip a switch & erase any band or musical who/what would it be?

(S.C) Hanson…not that I have anything against them or their music…it’s just when MMMBop comes on, I can’t get that damn song out of my head.

(R.C) Does the week start on Sunday or Monday?

(S.C) Really breaking the mold here…my week starts on a Thursday as I usually take Tuesdays and Wednesday off. Going against the grain is sassy…no?
